Dear Colleagues,
In recent past we have been the fortunate recipients of very generous gifts by Kate Tiedemann, Lynn Pippenger and Ellen Cotton. The Kate Tiedemann College of Business (named after our benefactor) will be moving to its new home ? Lynn Pippenger Hall ? in January. This beautiful contemporary facility will house all the classrooms, faculty and staff offices, and student support services for our graduate and undergraduate programs. Lynn Pippenger Hall will also be the home of some very exciting spaces which includes the Ellen Cotton Atrium, the Wealth Management Center, the Entrepreneurship Center, the Consumer Insight Lab, and Community Engagement areas.
As Dean, I am very excited at the opportunity to have all of our faculty and staff in the same building. We will be well situated to serve our students and ensure their success in the academic programs. Our immediate focus will be in the following areas:
1. Developing innovative and relevant programs
2. Increase experiential learning opportunities for KTCOB students
3. Develop a strong professional development program for KTCOB students
As you know one of the key challenges for our students is the financial commitment to higher education. Many of our students work full-time to support themselves. Through the generous gifts of Kate, Ellen and Lynn, we have started to support many KTCOB student scholarships through endowments. As these endowments grow and mature, we need to continue the momentum and increase student annual scholarships.
